The position is part time $18.00 an hour with flexible hours and rotating on call weekends.

Applicant must be able to obtain the EGLE S-4 Distribution Certification and then the S-3 within 2 testing dates of meeting requirements. (Around 6 months and 1.5 years experience in the field)

Applicant should be familiar with the following or willing to learn

  •  Michigan Miss dig utility locating system and its rules
  • EGLE testing and monitoring of the water distribution system and all rules and regulations governing distribution systems
  • House metering systems, remote reads, maintenance and replacing meters.
  • Different types of fire hydrants, functions and troubleshooting/repair.
  • Different types of water main and service materials with troubleshooting and repair of each
  • Read and understand system blueprints and drawings.
  • Maintain the water system through flushing and valve exorcise programs.
  • Basic understanding of cross connections and the ability to inform the public on them.


  • Valid driver’s license, CDL a bonus
  • Highschool diploma or better
  • Lift 75 pounds
  • Work for extended periods in inclement weather
